This is me

I'm Brandon -- KDØHTI on the air, and the founder of Trube Technologies the rest of the week. I got my Technician license back in 2008 or 2009, and upgraded to General in 2019. It's turned into one of the parts of my life I care about most: I serve as an ELMER for R.A.C.E.S. of Sedgwick County, which basically means helping newer hams get their footing -- answering the questions nobody wants to ask twice, walking through a first check-in on the net, that kind of thing.

These days the storm-spotting side has grown to be the bigger half of it. During severe weather season I'm usually watching NWS alerts and NEXRAD right alongside the radio, and I run a personal weather station out of Haysville (you can see it live at weather.trubetech.com) that feeds into how our local net makes sense of what's actually happening on the ground, not just what a forecast says should be happening.

For a living, I run Trube Technologies -- managed IT, computer support, and fractional CTO work out of Wichita. Different discipline than ham radio, but the same instinct underneath it: something's only actually working if you've checked it yourself, not just because it's supposed to.
